BEGINNER TO ADVANCED (All Ages)

I offer full tuition in reading music and playing drums, from beginner to advanced and performance standard. I believe in giving a thorough grounding in all basic technique and theory developing skills and knowledge which can be applied to all styles, leading to good progress and realisation of full musical potential.

STYLES

Full range of styles covered. From Rock, Funk and Pop through to Blues, Jazz, Latin, Show and Cabaret, to name just a few. Also includes a historical study of the influential drummers, (past and present), in all styles.

EXAMS

Graded exam entries for both Rock School and Trinity Boards, if required. (100% success rate over many years)

PREFERENCES

I try to gear all tuition towards the individual and the specific needs of each pupil. This is regardless of styles or grades required.

TECHINQUES

I teach a wide range of hand and foot techniques, in order to provide students with the facility to play the music that they aspire to. This will include...

wrist and finger control.

Push pull technique

Rebound strokes

Independency and double bass drums techniques (if required)

Reading music

Counting and rudimental studies

And More

Where ever possible, I encourage students to play along with a music backing track, either from my own collection or from a students’ own CD’s.

BANDS

For those who have bands of their own, I can offer advice on playing with other musicians, developing effective drum parts and improvisation.

AVAILABILITY

I teach on several days of the week, offering both daytime and evening lessons, so there should be a time available whatever your needs. As a teacher, I am enthusiastic, friendly, professional and well liked by my students (of all ages from 6 to 60!) Ultimately I believe that learning should be an enjoyable and fun experience, geared to the specific needs and ability of my students.

DRUM STUDIO

Learn to play is our specially designed studio, put together specially with learning to play the drums in mind.

LOCALITY

We are based in the centre of Baildon Village and are a central location for student who come to us from the surrounding villages and towns of Shipley, Saltaire, Bingley, Ilkley, Menston, Guiseley, Thackley, Wrose, to name but a few.

Teaching Lessons

Andy didn’t realise how good a teacher he was until he gained top marks in his trial period. We found him to have a natural ability for sharing what he knows with others. This is aided by a knack of noticing what it is that you might be struggling with and identifying a way that’s suits each pupils unique learning abilities.

We hold regular events where pupils of all abilities are invited to play what they have learnt. Sometimes it is part of a song ,occasionally they are accompanied by the houseband which helps with there self confidence

Playing Experience

As with all our teachers, Andy’s experience covers many years and music genres. He is comfortable with Rock, Pop, Punk, Glam, Classics, you name it. He was well known for Glam 70’s band ‘Glam Sensation’ and is currently performing with Inde Band Under’t’fridge. He is one of those people who can’t turn up at a BBQ without offering to do a couple of numbers on the acoustic.

Rehearsal and Musical Practice Room for Hire in Baildon Village.

Beat It Music School Baildon now offer a fully fitted out rehearsal and practice area for musicians.

The Music studio contains lots of useful equipment including a drum kit, keyboard/piano, Music P.A., speakers and Microphone, Guitar Amplifier, lead and guitar options, Bass Amp, lead and Bass. There are also other musical options available.

You are required to bring along breakables, such as your own drum sticks and personal effects to rehearse with.

You are welcome to bring your own instruments.

We try to be flexible and you are welcome to discuss your individual requirements with our Baildon Music School team.

Students attending the Baildon Beat It Music School are also entitled to use the facilities at a heavily discounted price. Please ask the Music School team for further details.

Our Rehearsal room and facilities are particularly popular with local drummers and drum students, as you can make as much noise as you like without upsetting the rest of the family and surrounding neighbours. So much so that we have musicians from surrounding towns and villages coming along to rehearse. Including Wrose, Thackley, Shipley, Bingley, Saltaire, Guiseley, Hawksworth, Menston, Eldwick & More.

I started teaching at Beat It Music in 2014 (at 18 Years Old) I am a multi-instrumentalist but most notably guitar grade 7 and FLUTE grade 5.

I have had lots of music experience and played in many bands. I am constantly aiming to become a better player myself and bringing new music and challenges to students lessons.

We provide beginner Piano lessons with an emphasis on Classical and Contemporary music. Following the ABRSM grades we provide a complete course for the beginner or Intermediate student.

I provide beginner flute lessons up to grade 5 with a strong focus on developing playing and theory in a fun environment.

I teach ABRSM grade from 1-5 and any beginners will work through the abracadabra flute book, a fun yet concise guide to beginner Flute
